Plane seed pods, King’s Cross

Plane tree seed balls

Plane trees and sycamores produce seed pods which disperse in the winter and spring. They’re irritating when inhaled, which is one reason why urban planters sometimes prefer ginkgos. Planes are actually quite easy to grow from seed if you’re so inclined, and resists pests and diseases much better than sycamores.
